There is some good and some bad in the tech. I think both will surely go down in history and be commented upon for eons to come. Hubbard authored Fair Game Law, (making dirty tricks acceptable behavior), no doubt as a solution to some problems he was encountering. It was a very bad solution and no one should have let him get away with it. Just as "no one" who has any influence at all on Miscavige/OSA now should allow them to get away with dirty tricks or oppressive behavior. They keep doing what they do because people don't say "NO". There are a lot of intelligent people associated with Scn in some way who could exert a bit more influence. I left Scn when I realized that I could not bring about a reformation of the oppressive behavior from within. I felt that by staying in it I was condoning the oppressive practices. I wasn't aware of the dirty tricks of illegalities committed by the G.O., but the oppressive behavior displayed by Miscavige I found intolerable. The reason why I stayed in as long as I did was because I felt that we could change things for the better. I left when I realized things were going terribly wrong --fences with gates which required a special card to get out, armed guards, people being kept under guard and incommunicado. There was also a five card system that was put into effect. Each card gave the staff member a privilege --pay, food, berthing, day off, ... A person could lose a card by being "nattery" or critical. So, if you lost your food card you were put on beans and rice. If you lost your berthing card you were put into what was called "pig" berthing. It was completely outrageous to me. Because these changes happened very suddenly after Miscavige/Broeker took over, I could see them a lot more clearly than if the changes had happened slowly. It should be a lot easier for people on the outside to see the "outpoints" than staff who have endured and been conditioned to poor conditions for a long period of time. The staff members have a lot less information than what most people realize. People that can help them change their conditions for the better should do so, especially people that are being paid big bucks to help the Scientology corporations and the government which should be protecting people's civil liberties.
