Yes the disclaimer is quite acceptible, I certainly don't think that everybody has to be in compulsive agreement or think the same as I do. An extremely nice "Pilot's Home Page" has appeared (URL given below). It includes the refomer's page and HTML versions of the super scio book among other things. Again, my thanks. I have also noticed some of my posts being picked up and made available at various web sites. This is good to see. In case I haven't said so, feel free to use anything that I post. If I didn't want it spread around, I wouldn't put it on the net. The more talk of reform, the better. Maybe we can wake some of the loyalists up. He was beginning to sound like a > Suppressive Person. A very unpleasant thought began to form in my mind. This shows how to guarantee that your child will do the exact opposite of what you want. It is also a good illistration of how to mishandle a member of any cult and drive them into it deeper. First and foremost, nobody who is in a cult ever believes that they are in a cult (or else they know that cults are good or that this one's different, or whatever). Otherwise they wouldn't be there. All you do by calling it a cult is to label yourself as an enemy in their eyes. Then come the newspaper clippings. Oh No. Is there anybody on this planet who thinks that the newspapers always tell the truth? I'm not just talking about Scientology here, but news in general. Its often wrong or slanted (just read about any area where you are an expert - look at the stupidity of some of the news stories about the internet). I'm not saying here that the news is all lies, but that its a mixed bag and everybody knows that. I consider it to be an information source, but not a trustworthy source. So it makes a bad platform from which to launch an attack. A fanatic can always filter out the entire thing because it is usually half wrong and slanted. They can't hear the half that is true because it is mixed in with too much bias. A news story might keep somebody from joining, but its never going to get somebody who is already in to step back and take an honest look. It just puts them on the defensive. And finally we have the ultimate word in parental mishandling. "We want you to quit this foolishness and come home". This is certain to encourage teenage rebellion. How many runaways hear this one and decide that they were right to get out from under their parent's thumb? Its just about the worst thing that you can say. So what should you do? First and foremost, you must treat the child as a person. Talk to them rather than dictating to them. Ask "are you sure that you're doing the right thing?" and let them justify their case to you instead of carrying the burden of proof on your shoulders. Be willing to accept their opinions and decisions even when you know that they are wrong, but keep the communications open and keep letting them know that you care about them and are available to help them out when they get in trouble. And investigate and find out the real errors and outpoints in the area and question those. Don't inflict your own morality and viewpoint on them, if they've left home, then you have already lost that battle. Instead, find out what is wrong from their perspective. This would apply to any cult or even other activities that somebody has gotten stuck in. Now on the subject of Scientology specifically, I have been putting out a lot of things that are objectionable to the members themselves. These are the things that you would push. Notice how the honest Scientologists that talk on ARS end up in the freezone (except for the OSA plants of course). They continue to believe in auditing and in past lives and various other things that you mistakenly think are the points to attack. But they do wind up leaving the orthodox organization because there are a ton of things wrong even if you look at it from a Scientologist's perspective. Most of them can hold out infinitely against viscious attacks, but they can't stand up to honest discusssions of things that are really wrong from their own perspective. It takes time because its hard for them to face and a lot of heavy soul searching is needed, but this is the workable approach. The Scientology Reformer's Home Page that I put out recently is a good one to show to current Scientologists. Its not blind criticism. It is full of their hopes and dreams along with the horrors that really do exist for people in the subject. It is an honest analysis that is just full of LRH quotes. It is not a big turnoff like most of the anti material. They still might not want to read it, because it talks about reform, which is supposedly a "suppressive act". So the new fanatics might shy away. But after they have been in for a little while, most of the members get a little bit more liberal about reading things. At least they will glance at something before dismissing it as psych propaganda. So this is the thing to use on existing members. Get them working to right the wrongs. Either they will succeed, or they will get kicked out on their ass in short order. My preference, actually, is to see them succeed because that will save everybody else in there. But even a failed reform will wake some people up and reduce the evil. NOW LETS HAVE A SHOW OF HANDS FROM THE SCIENTOLOGISTS IN THE AUDIENCE. How many of you love being sec checked? Especially when you're paying for it with the money that should have paid for your next grade or OT level? And they're not auditing you, so they can use the withholds aginst you if they feel like it. How many of you love getting a high pressure sales job from the registars? How many of you think that staff members should work for no pay, and not even get trained or processed? Do you honestly think that this is because the prices are too low? Or is there something fishy going on? How many of you love paying excessivly high prices? (at a hundred bucks an hour, with 40% for staff pay , and a 1:1 tech to admin ratio , your auditor would make 20 dollars an hour - which is a lot more than he currently gets. This would put the price of an intensive at about 1200 dollars instead of 4500 dollars). How many of you love disconnecting from your old friends (or the best auditor you ever had) when they give up and take off for the freezone? How many of you really make big gains from doing the lower ethics conditions? How many of you like having your withholds pulled when you complain that your auditor's accent is so thick that you can't understand what he's saying? How many of you love to have your seniors screaming "Make it go right" without giving you a clue as to how to do so? How many of you love to validate the "wog" justice system and have lots and lots of court cases paying big bucks to all those "suppressive" lawyers? How many of you love to suppress free speach and make sure that grade zero will never go in on this planet as a whole? How many of you love to dramatize and attack everything that moves? How many of you support and encourage your local RPF? How many of you love to be fed false data and bullshit PR? If you are a Scientologist in good standing, then let me appologize right now for missing your favorite outpoint. The above list is far from complete. The freezoners and antis get to post their favorites all the time, but you're not allowed to say anything critical (there's another outpoint - one of my favorites), so you just have to sit on it and build up charge. That's the real difference between a free and a slave society. Let's not burn down all the orgs. Let's just make them be what they pretend to be: strongholds of truth and freedom and more able individuals who make things better instead of worse. I think that more reformist web pages, and slogans and leaflets too, are needed. I have mostly been writing things which might have woken me up when I was still on staff or while I was doing OT levels. But that does leave me a bit slanted towards outer org staff rather than Sea Org, trained auditors rather than PCs, and people who have been around long enough to see the "standard tech" of one year become gross auditing errors in the next year. So maybe you can suggest some buttons that I'm missing. Things that might have communicated to you while you were still in the SO. Could it be that he was driving in a trance? Can > the ex-scientologists here tell us if it is plausible that the reverie > induced by auditing could interfere with driving? No, that's long gone. Only used in 1950-51. The modern techniques don't induce trance or reverie. I have seen trance like reactions while I was trying DMSMH before I ever went into an org. I have never seen it in professional Scientology auditing. But, I have seen people occasionally get so mishandled and pissed off that they were liable to crash into something. Usually it was Ethics handling rather than auditing, but it can happen in auditing too if the auditor really screws up. I remember one old time class 6 auditor (who was getting set up for Nots) screaming at the examiner that "The CS should go fuck themselves". Ron once said (half joking) that we use light soup cans instead of heavy electrodes incase the PC throws them at you. Best, The Pilot ======================== Subj : Super Scio Humor - Davy The Missing Savage This was passed on to me by those rascals, the loyalist officers hiding in the 4th dimension. Please complain to them directly if you find this offensive. - The Pilot DAVY THE MISSING SAVAGE Once upon a time, there was a band of happy savages living on the planet known as Fartforall. Especially happy was the savage known as Davy, for he was trysting with one of the King's concubines, who was known as da-Ho for obvious reasons. But the joy did not last, for the King found out and sent his armies to seek for the miscreant. But they searched high and they searched low and he was nowhere to be found. Davy the savage was missing! He was gone from the planet! For in their fear and terror, with various unmentionable things plopping from various orafices, Davy and da-Ho had seen a UFO and run to it for sanctuary. It was a UFO of the 4th Invader force, and they were very entertained by Davy's antics. As a reward, they taught Davy and da-Ho how to use the Fac One implanting devices, which looked like movie cameras with cranks, and the two of them had much fun using the devices on each other. But eventually, after cleaning up one too many stinky messes from the decks, the invaders tired of their pets and determined to drop them off at the nearest authorized dumping gound, which happened to be Earth. Finding himself abandoned here, Davy at first had trouble because his savage background had not prepared him for any useful occupation within a civilized society. Except of course for his ability to scream very loudly, which is a skill that is highly developed in savages. But then he remembered the nice camera devices that the invaders had taught him how to use. And so he was able to get work on a camera crew. And he was indeed most excellent at pointing the device although he had an annoying tendency to make wirring noises and would sometimes turn an imaginary crank. And finally he was happy again, because he kept imagining all the wonderful implants that he was delivering. Until, that is, one dismal day when the movie producer, who was none other than the famous L. Ron Hubbard, explained to Davy that the cameras only took nasty pictures instead of implanting nasty pictures into the actors. Poor Davy was crushed. What was he to do? He was disillusioned with camera work and there was no other occupation to which he was suited. But Wait! There was somebody else on the set who yelled and screamed all the time. It was the producer. And the man was also a source and a founder and a leader and was worshipped by all. And Davy was sure that he could yell just as loud, what with his savage background and all. Now Davy had his answer. He would become just like the glorious LRH. But people didn't worship Davy when he yelled at them. It just wasn't enough. And so he came up with a nefarious scheme to truely become the founder. By means of black magic, he began to suck in LRH's BTs. And with this he began to rise in power and became more and more like Ron every day. But he only absorbed Ron's dark side, the evil BTs that had plagued the man. As to the "good" Ron who also had a kinder side and who was bright and able and who originated the glorious tech, Davy got none of it. Ron, on his deathbed, passed the last of his BTs to Davy with a smile on his lips, for now he was truely free. Rejoice my friends, for Ron gained total purity and was able to excape the trap. He dwells now on the planet Elsinore, where the hills are ripe for songs and the naked maidens jump excitedly up and down begging for more wonderful stories of the whole track. If you think he's going to leave that to come back to this hellhole, you've got another thing coming. As for Davy, the gods became so angry at his rise to power that they smote the Challenger spacecraft when they found out about it. The savage remains there still, screaming and dramatizing Ron's dark side without the saving graces. And the stats are turning to dust under this impact. But Davy has a plan. Even now a dedicated research team is working on a new kind of movie projector. One that gives pictures instead of taking them. We'd better hope that he yells "Make it go right" at them one too many times. Otherwise, we're going to have a very bad movie season next year. --------------- From the case book of the Loyalist Officers: How many Sea Org members does it take to change a lightbulb? Four: One to yell "make it go right". One to fill out the routing form. One to record the stats. And one to sue the lightbulb for going out. What? It's still dark in there? Flunk! Keep repeating the above steps until the light comes back on. ======================== Subj : Super Scio - Concerning AVATAR CONCERNING AVATAR In general I like the freezone groups and do not believe that they should be attacked. They are willing enough to talk about what they are processing to at least let somebody know what they are getting into. But Avatar operates under a heavy cloak of secrecy and seems to be immitating the worst of the CofS's behavior. I don't like this, so I'll pass on a rumor that I heard. Note that this is totally unsubstantiated. If its wrong, then I apologize in advance. In that case, let this simply be an example of why you shouldn't make things so super secret that people dub-in wierd ideas. The rumor is that their advanced levels consist of putting the PC in a sensory deprivation tank for some period of time and then hitting them with "you are superman" type commands in the first highly suggestible moments when they come out of the tank. If so, then they are "implanting a manic". On a 1951 tape, Hubbard said that he'd tried that with hypnosis back in the 1940s and discovered that the person eventually caved in. There was a splinter group called E-therapy that tried this (with hypnosis) back in 1952. It doesn't seem like a good idea. But I'd leave them alone and let them argue their case and point to their results (maybe they do have a workable technology) if they weren't doing this damn secrecy dramatization. One of the oddest things is that Hubbard's criticism of E-therapy and his analysis of what was wrong with it was edited out of the 1952 tape transcripts that are in the R&D volumes. The org has no concievable reason for having done this. It was Ron's first "attack" against a "squirrel" group and it was a sensible analysis rather than an undignified rant. So I would think that they would want to have that in the transcripts. That really makes me wonder what the hell is going on. I can only spin crazy theories about this. Maybe an Avatar Master has infiltrated the CofS. Maybe some SO execs are preparing a haven for themselves if the CofS should get smashed. Maybe the same dark puppeteer is manipulating both groups. I'm coming up with off-the-wall theories because the action was so screwy. I just can't fathom it. Maybe it was just stupidity. But it really does worry me when the CofS seems to be covertly helping what they would call a "squirrel" group, especially when its the most super secret one that I know of. - The Pilot ======================== Subj : Super Scio - Re A New Slant On Life ABOUT SCIENTOLOGY A NEW SLANT ON LIFE In response to an ongoing discussion about the book "New Slant on Life", Joe Harrington (joeharr@worldnet.att.net) wrote: : Posted/mailed : Looks like they are STILL trying to rewrite history. : "Scientology, A New Slant on Life" was written by Reg Sharpe in the late : 60's and it was carried in every org bookstore worldwide. Reg later fell : out of grace and was declared, and the book was taken off the shelves. : 25+ years later they put Hubbard's name as the author, and call it : "new!". :-) Sorry to contradict you on this, but I was around at that time. There are two different books. "Scientology, A New Slant on Life" is a collection of articles written by Ron in the late 1950s for various publications such as Ability magazine. They picked some of the shallowest things that he wrote and I remember thinking that if it had been the first of his books that I'd read instead of the fourth or fifth, it would have turned me off to the subject. Reg Sharpe's book was called "This Is Life". It was an excellent introduction to Scientology, possibly the best ever written, discussing things like the ARC triangle etc. Both of these books were in all the Scientology bookstores in 1965 and 1966. Then Reg got declared. I remember watching the Dissem Sec pulling "This is Life" off the shelves and packing up the copies (rather than tossing them) in the hope that the declare would be reversed shortly. Neither of us was very happy about the matter. "New Slant" remained on the shelves at that time and as far as I know has always been available. This left us without a good first Scientology book. "Evolution of a Science" only covered Dianetics, and "Fundamentals of Thought" (which I really like) is a bit difficult for newcomers and presents 1957 style Scientology rather than modern practice. Eventually Ruth Minshull provided "Miracles for Breakfast" which could be used as a first book. But of course they eventually wound up pulling that one off the shelves too. Now of course we have "What is Scientology". It strikes me as one of those heavy but shallow "coffee table books" that nobody ever reads. It has its place, but it doesn't subsitute for a nice cheep little paperback that gives you some useful tech to try out. The foot bullets have always been with us. Sorry, he always said the exact opposite, at least in anything official. In fact, my feeling is that he was always very careful to downplay the possibility of aliens showing up, although I'm not sure if he really meant it or simply wanted to avoid a panic or was afraid of having Scientology labled as an "end of the world" cult. There were a couple of different reasons that he would use to explain this. One was that the space empires are too decayed and conservative to bother doing anything. Another is that since we are "dead forever" and stuck on a prison planet, they don't care what we do down here. Another is that they are afraid that if they appeared to us, some people would remember and excape into the galaxy at large. Another is that there are multiple groups of aliens and if any one of them shows themselves, the others will blow their heads off. I could dig up some references on this, but since it's not what you're looking for anyway, I wouldn't bother unless you request it. He might have said things privately to the people close to him, but I'll bet that he was careful not to put anything in writing that might come back to haunt him on this subject. Of course Captain Bill had a lot to say about the alien's plans for Earth. And sometimes he signed his stuff LRH or Elron. You'll find some of that stuff in the freezone archives. - The Pilot PS: Its the 50th anniversary of the Roswell UFO incident. Perhaps we could open up a Xemu theme park on the site of Area 51? Patterning it after Disneyland, we could make the Matterhorn into a Volcano complete with lava and electronic ribbons. Then we could make the rollercoasters in the space mountain look like DC8s flying between the planets. And you can't beat the haunted house as a starting point for building "BT-Land". But what about the Pirates Cove with all of its gold and treasure? How about making it the "Mission Into Time Ride"? As your boat approached the treasure, CIA agents would chase you away. Imagine all your favorite characters parading around on Main Street! Xemu and the Farie Queen and even The Pilot! And we could even have regular overboardings of Class 8s from the riverboat steamers! There is an alt.anonymous.messages newsgroup that is often used for this. But of course anybody can look there. The real idea is to use PGP encryption to prevent others from reading the messages. In that case they could really go into any group except for the matter of politeness. I general I prefer to keep discussions open and aboveboard. Exchanging secret messages is just asking for people to imagine all sorts of crazy ideas (spy stuff, con games, sexual rondezvous, etc.) so if you just want to say something that the antis might make fun of, it might be better to post it to A.C.T. with a bunch of disclaimer's or just use a different e-mail identity. I'll include my public key at the end of this. You should check it against at least one or two other sources (its on the web pages and the messages I posted in mid June which you probably have or can pick up on dejanews). That is to prevent somebody from pretending to be me or altering my post and substituting their key so that they will be able to decode your message instead of me. You will need to do the same. If you put your public key on enough of your messages for me to be sure that it is you (based on your normal style and content), then I will be able to trust the key. Otherwise any scam artist could post an encrypted message to me and pretend to be Heildrun and give me their key and lead me into some sort of crazy dialog for whatever purpose. Once you establish a public key, you can use it to sign your messages if any kind of forgery starts up and end the controversy immediately. That is why I went to the trouble of establishing a key. I'm mostly not bothering to sign things now, and hopefully the existance of a key will discourage any forging, but if trouble does start, I'm prepared (an ounce of prevention). However, anything that is encrypted should be signed because its harder to spot trickery when things are kept secret. I'm using a PC DOS version of PGP 2.6ui, which is an international version that is easy to download from anywhere in the world. It was easy to pickup, unzip, and start using it. In case your not familiar with PGP encryption, the system works on the basis of having a pair of keys, one used to encrypt the message and a different one used to decrypt it (they are not mirrors of each other and are considered uncrackable with the current level of CPU power). You encrypt a message to me under MY Public Key. Only I have the corresponding Secret Key which can decrypt it (you can't even decrypt the encrypted copy that you made). I encrypt messages to you under YOUR Public Key. Only you can decrypt them. I don't use email at all (at least as The Pilot) so I can't hit clear-l (notice Homer's comments about the possible insecurity, I trust Homer but I don't trust viruses, hackers, and infiltrators who are getting ever better at breaking into systems). But I always bulk post to ACT/ARS (reduced exposure) so that somebody can probably be counted on to call your attention to it. You probably need a decent newsreader, such as Free Agent which can be easily downloaded. You set it to load the article headers only and go make some coffee or something (hopefully only about 5 minutes for ACT which has a much lower volume than ARS). If you don't want to skim through the headers, you turn off threading and sort by author (or some similar trick) and just take a quick glance at who or what you are looking for. Of course you might have horrible internet access, I don't know how it is in Europe. If you have OS/2 or WinNT on your PC, you can do other things (reading email, browsing the web, or editing files) while the newsreader is running. In theory this might be possible on Win95 but it runs slow and tends to screw up so the experience might be unsatisfactory. - ---- (the remaining > and # are from the same posts as above, with my additional comments added. Much interesting material snipped.) >I noticed your recent post about your running NOTS on PCs. > >To that I would say Very Well Done. # Thanks again. I used the word PC as sloppy auditor's slang. # She is Clear of course and currently on her solo training. # After having seen her and her husband's very positive reaction # to NOTs before OT3, I begin to wonder whether it's not the # wrong sequence to do OT3 first. Both of them had not only # easy (but also case-cracking) wins on audited NOTs - they also # cognited beautifully about how to handle a BT as an auditor. # # The auditing comm cycle of the NOTs handling is precious # in grooving them in on the "real thing" of solo-ing. After # this (which would of course include other handlings on BTs, # like ruds which are needed frequently, or INT or whatever), # it should be much easier for the Solo Auditor to run them # on the OT3 process. I have been thinking much the same thing and I've also heard both loyalist and dissaffected trained OTs voice the same opinion as far as Nots being the easier technique and potentially the better starting point. In the old days, when an easier faster techique came out, it generally superseeded the old one. But there was so much PR and big bucks attached to the subject of OT3 that I doubt that such an idea was even considered. They couldn't have it being easy after it had been so hard. At an early Nots briefing for OT3s and above (trying to get us to sign up for Nots) before the OT levels were renumbered, it was stated that Nots was developed as a cure for OTs who had had XDN and that that was why it needed to be audited by an auditor instead of done solo (this is from before the days of Solo Nots). My thoughts on the matter (without adequate testing) would be that you would start the person on audited Nots until they get the hang of it. Then have them do solo until they didn't find any more. Next you would give them the OT 3 pack and let them dig into mass implants as a way of getting them to run deeper. Then you would have them try the specialized Nots rundowns (but do them solo) to see what else they could find. Finally they would go back to running whatever their attention was drawn by or avoided until EP. A different point would be the question of needing to run the CC and OT2 platens first. I think that flattening implant items is easier to do solo than handling beings. It is probably the easiest type of solo auditing. Currently the org bypasses the CC platen entirely on a Dianetic clear. That would appear to be silly because they run OT2 on clears and the CC platen is more basic. It used to be run on old OT 4 and on a dianetic clear it should mostly FN with occasional pairs of items reading spectacularly (this was my experience). Since OT 3 inc 2 is supposed to contain all the OT 2 platens (this might only be partially correct, see Super Scio chapter 8), in theory one should run OT 2 before addressing inc 2. In practice, the org lets people attest to OT 2 fairly quickly, as soon as they get a big key out on the subject of implants. This might not be a bad idea before getting into the subject of mass implants so that one is not troubled by items in restimulation. A thorough run of all available implant platens is really a different action. It would be a step towards cleared theta clear and should include much more than just OT 2 materials (again see Super Scio chapter 8). If we get off of the org's current fixed ideas, there is a research question as to the right sequence. At a guess, implants first followed by Nots and then mass implants is probably best in most cases, but if Nots is manifesting or already started or stirred up by reading the internet, then maybe Nots first until it cools down and then implants and finally back to Nots for handing mass implants etc. # I know that it's not easy for some to combine "green on white" # (Data Series) with "red on white" (technical principles). # That's why I write it down here, not for you but the readers: # The "Data Series 1" policy ("Anatomy of Thought") contains # a very comprehensible guide through all the contradictions # in policy and tech of the CoS. It shows how to "weigh" data. Yes, the data series is one of the few pieces of policy that seems like real tech rather than a mad effort to cope or control. > Furthmore, you would sink the guy if > you insisted that all his problems and overts really came from > ARCXs because it would be a false datum and a wrong why. # Sure. But as well it was sinking the case of a person # I know very well to force him through FPRD and everything # without establishing "whose charge?", as soon as he was # up to this concept. It seemed to have produced an unrecoverable # mess at the first sight. I was surprised how easily it then # handled with only a few NOTs sessions. This is one of the problems with the FPRD. Its just asking for trouble like that. Grade 2 is the really good way to handle overts, and the questions are aimed at the PC ("what have YOU done?") so that the issue of BTs would not get mixed into this even on an OT. > Since I don't consider BT to be a derrogatory term, I don't see > any need to relable them STs, but there are some people on the > orgs delivery lines who have this derragatory idea. Its really > just a misunderstood that gets perpetuated because some irresponsible > idiot wants to blame all of his case on those evil BTs. # Yes, sure. This contempt idea is not original LRH. Also not # this blaming idea which I have seen to my great amazement. # I am very curious about your experiences with the 2D-part # of church-public's case. Are they getting rid of their # enforced data and implants? Do they create an upscale scene? # Or is there a blind spot in this particular area? I'm not entirely sure what you are asking about here. Is this a sudden change of topic or are you implying some connection between Nots and the 2D? Based on the mistaken idea that all pains and sensations stemmed from BTs, when I started solo Nots I wondered what effect it would have on sexual sensation. It didn't turn out to have any effect at all, either way (but I didn't have pain mixed up with sex, I can imagine that there might be something to handle on S&M cases). For some comic relief, I will mention that a friend of mine, upon starting OT3, became afraid to have sex with his very attractive wife for fear that her BTs would rub off on him. This lasted for about 3 days before he gave up and "cognited" that there was nothing to worry about. The Sea Org has these strict moral codes. The occasional teenagers that I have seen join the Sea Org in recent years have almost immediately gotten married in what seemed like shallow marriages of convienience because otherwise it is a condition of liability to have sex. It reminds me of the hasty marriages of old that often occured without judgement and ended poorly. For staff members who are married, harsh ethics action against one of the partners will put the other into a stressful condition. In one case that I know of where both were trained auditors on staff, the wife got into trouble, decided she was wrongly assigned a lower condition, blew, and was subsequently declared suppressive. At this point the husband had to choose between leaving his wife or leaving the org. Happily, he left the org. The org suffered because these two were a significant percentage of the technical staff there. For Scientologists who are not on staff, where both are in Scientology (in other words, it is not a point of contention), they appear to do at least as well as the society at large, and possibly a bit better because of greater efforts to be responsible etc. On the whole, I think that there was no blind spot in the early days on staff and that there is still none in the field, but that the staff members are developing one. It used to be that one could talk to the chaplain about one's romantic life much as one would talk to Dear Abbey, getting useful advice rather than a strict moral stance. The rumors are that nowardays its more like talking to one of the old Catholic priests who had little reality and much morality on the subject under discussion. As far as children go, I already made a statement on the web page which was based on seeing a lot of good childrearing on the part of non-staff Scientologists and very bad childrearing on the part of Sea Org members. It seems to me that the enforced data in the area is currently being further inforced rather than aliviated in the orgs. As far as implants go, they certainly aren't doing any research in this direction. For them to put out the "pain and sex" HCOB without at the same time researching whatever implant caused the association would seem to be a gross outpoint. I think that there are a number of implants to be found in this area, but I haven't gotten my hands on them yet. > In practice, every level and every breakthrough gives you the > feeling that it is the complete answer and the entirety of the > bridge. # I didn't get that idea. For me personally, NOTs works # very much like an additional rudiment. I didn't concentrate # on the "full rundown" (although my partner Ralph is a fan # of it), because I soon got the feeling of a "no auditing"- # situation for myself. There is more to be learned here. I had that feeling while getting Nots as part of reviews at Flag after overrunning the EP. It ceases to be a correct case "why" and no longer indicates. But one might also have that feeling if the level wasn't ready to be run yet. And there is the possibility that this goes in cycles or that the feeling occurs if there is something more significant (some other level) that is being bypassed. There is also the overt flow, which the orgs do not address. Both implanting BTs into others to control them or whatever, and the fragmentation idea of putting or being implanted to put fragments of yourself into others (if you find one of these, use "point to the being that you divided from" as explained in chapter 6A of Super Scio). Bypassing these kind of things might also leave one with a feeling of no auditing. The org occasionally has difficulty on this basis, with people protesting running Nots. But I don't have all the data, and the situation is muddied up by their endlessly running past EP and handling old timers who ran OT3 and OT3X extensively and by trying to correct the old screwed up XDN PCs. If you are auditing this on others and CSing them through solo, you should (of course) keep in good communication and follow up on these kinds of statements to determine what is really going on. And when you have observed enough to be fairly sure of your conclusions, please post it and let the rest of us know. # But what happened is that whatever pops up in life or # I come up with in session, has a layer of BTs who get # loose by running my own side of it. It's usually like # running one or two flows of a process for 5 minutes, # then blow off the BTs who copy the charge for the # rest of the session. Also it's wonderful for clearing # the head for work, to just jolt off a few dark shadows, # or layers of tiredness or tension, or whatever they are. Wonderful. I found this happening for awhile when I was researching on my own beyond the Solo Nots EP. # All the best, # # Heidrun Beer (clear baby) # # ----------------------------------------------------------------------- # Discussing CoS practice: http://www.icon.fi/~marina/clrbaby/index.htm # ----------------------------------------------------------------------- # Don't worship our rituals. Be as orderly as you can. Follow our rules # as best you can. But a rule can be wrong and service and our mission # can never be wrong. Use the rules until they prevent you from doing # your job. But if these stop you, then to HELL with the rules! # - LRH, 29.10.59, "Service" - # ----------------------------------------------------------------------- For the sake of any OSA lurkers who are eavesdropping on these Nots discusssions, let me end with the following: Roland's Xemu leaflet, the confidential data on the internet, and the pressure from the antis make it imperative for the orgs to clean up their act in this area. Right now the orthodox orgs can't withstand having people told that the top of the bridge is "getting rid of the spirits of dead space aliens". It will crush them. If this was what was really wrong with a case, it wouldn't matter because people would feel the correctness of it and come in anyway. But it is not the basic case factor, and so it doesn't indicate correctly. If it was a simple reasonable level in the midst of a much larger grade chart (that carried on above the point of handling entities) and if it was not confidential (so the orgs knew what they were talking about) and not blown all out of proportion, it could be tossed off as just one more thing that needs to be handled on the way to OT and this "dead space alien" business might just become a popular joke around the orgs. But this dead serious view of OT3 and Xemu and Nots is just asking to pull in trouble. We know where "dead serious" fits on the tone scale. It soon leads to just plain being dead. Yours in Freedom, The Pilot PS: I'm crossposting this to ARS/ACT because the question was posted to ARS, but some of the other technical posts I'm putting out are only being aimed at ACT. So you will find everything on ACT and a few freezone oriented things will not be on ARS. This is a short (only 7K) Web Page aimed at waking up the orthodox Scientologists and turning them into reformers within the organization. Its theme is that the org is acting like a PC with out grades (stopped communication, comitting overts, etc.). In other words, the tech vs policy hypocracy that I have been talking about. It is condensed and hard hitting and assumes that the reader already knows a great deal about the subject. Rather than loading it up with definitions and discussion, I simply linked it to the "Scientology Reformer's Home Page" which is already available. I hope that one or more volenteers will pick this one up and make it available at their websites. It is short enough that it could also be printed off and given out like Roland's Xemu leaflet. The idea would be to give it to active Scientologists, especially staff members. I wrote it in a manner that would have really gotten to me back in the old days when I was auditing for the org. There are nearly fifty point of significant out tech listed. A staff member might excuse or justify a few of these on the basis of expediency and the importance of protecting the org, but if they are hit with the bulk of these all at once, I would expect them to fold up like a house of cards. There is nothing on the page that is critical of the tech. It assumes the correctness of Scientology and its value as a religion. Every one of the bad things listed already has its critics among the loyalists. But they don't see the forrest, each of them just sees a few individual trees that bother them. So they can rationalize them away or hope that things will get better. If the whole mess hits them all at once, it could well shock them awake. I've said it before and I'll say it again. The policies are bad. They violate the tech. Its like comparing Vatican operating policy to the Gospel, you can separate the two and still have a valid religion, as evidenced by Martin Luther and the entire Protestant movement. The web page was done as editable text with embedded HTML, so it can be handled with any ordinary editor. This time I used the
  • tags correctly, so there shouldn't be any problem, you should be able to put this one up as-is. I did use the
pairs instead of align=CENTER because all the new browsers sill recognize the old convention and the older browsers don't recognize align=CENTER (Weblint will complain about this one but you could ignore it). I checked it with five different browsers and it looked good in all cases. Note that Microsoft's Web authoring tools try to subtily shoot older browsers in the foot so as to push people up to the Win95 or NT platforms. The physical CR/LFs which are needed to make this easy to read and pass through the news system are ignored by all browsers that I tested. For people who simply want to pick up the page and read it, save it to disk and snip off the news header with any editor and point your web browser at the file. Much Thanks, The Pilot PS. I'm signing this message, and will continue to do so occasionally, but I'm not going to bother signing all messages unless somebody starts forging (which hasn't happened up to now and maybe wouldn't happen now that I have establish a key that I can use to cry foul). ======================== Subj : Super Scio Web Page- <1/1> Reform Now Webpage THE REFORM NOW WEBPAGE, see part <0/1> for instructions - The Pilot REFORM SCIENTOLOGY NOW

    THE ORG'S GRADES ARE OUT

    REFORM SCIENTOLOGY NOW

    BY "THE PILOT"

This page is addressed to members of the Church of Scientology.

Scientology is a religion which seeks to improve the spiritual awareness and abilities of its members by means of auditing (pastoral counseling). This auditing is generally directed to specific areas known as "grades" such as grade zero which addresses communications or grade one which addresses problems. When these grades have not been handled and the person is having difficulties in these areas, the grades are said to be "out".

Anyone who has honestly studied the "tech" of Scientology auditing can see that the organization behaves like an individual who has his grades out, stopping communications, committing overt (harmful) acts and justifying them, and becoming embroiled in problems and upsets. They turn a blind eye because they don't want to criticize the organization or they justify this in some other manner. But it is time to confront the truth and do something about it before the organization sinks under the weight of its own aberrations.

For those of you who are not Scientologists, please follow the links at the end of this document to find other sites which contain more definitions and explanations.

Written July 1997, last updated 7/2/97.

    OUT GRADE ZERO (COMMUNICATIONS):

Policies which dramatize stopping communication (out grade zero) include

    • Issue Authority
    • Jokers and Degraders
    • Disconnection
    • Confidentiality
    • Trade Secrets
    • Suppression of Free Speech
    • The use of Ethics to enforce good PR

    OUT GRADE ONE (PROBLEMS):

Problems are most often the result of solutions to earlier problems.

For example, when the gross income is down, the solutions include the following:

    • Put people into lower ethics conditions
    • Sell services without delivering
    • Exhaust the staff with "all hands" bulk mailings
    • Shoot any critics who might really be spotting what's wrong
    • Sell unnecessary actions
    • Search for SPs in the organization

Of course these all become new problems, which lead to more abberated solutions.

    OUT GRADE TWO (OVERTS):

The examples are endless. They include:

    • Exploitation of Staff (out exchange)
    • Abusive treatment (the RPF)
    • Assigning Liability without regard to previous contributions
    • and encouraging out-finances among the membership (debts)

    OUT GRADE THREE (ARC BREAKS):

    • Upsets with Independents (Squirrels)
    • Upsets with similar belief systems (mixing practices)
    • Upsets with similar practitioners (the war on psychs)
    • Upsets with the middle class (Wogs)
    • Upsets with Governments (OSA)

There is screwed up affinity, reality, and communication on every line where there might be some commonalty of purpose or partial agreement because of a self-righteous and fanatical viewpoint that attacks instead of teaches.

    OUT GRADE FOUR (JUSTIFICATIONS):

    • Policy is always right
    • The org "never" makes mistakes
    • The org never makes amends
    • The Chaplain is powerless and ethics rules

    OUT DIANETICS (DRAMATIZATION):

This consists of the dramatization of Fixed Ideas and Arbitraries carried forward from times when the organization suffered impacts such as:

The loss of the first Dianetic Foundation.

    • And so we must make money instead of delivering
    • And so authority must be maintained with an iron fist
    • And so we must never admit to errors

The introduction of quickie grades and the resulting rebellion.

    • And so we must Keep Scientology Working (at the height of quickies)
    • And so the materials must be confidential (can't be questioned)
    • And so we must 'disconnect' from suppression (because we can't handle criticism)
    • And so we must drive everything by force (lower conditions)
    • And so we must stop everyone from leaving (blows)
    • And so we must suppress any attempt at reform

The failure of "Snow White" and the resulting CMO Coup

    • And so one third of our missions became splinter groups
    • And so the Scientology business network in LA was destroyed
    • And so Scientology became a sue happy religion

All leading to the latest fiasco which is Scientology's war against the internet and free speech.

    OUT UPPER GRADES:

The org is creating its own opposition. Most are attacking because the org attacks first.

And the biggest dramatization of all:

Facsimilie One (see History of Man) Which says "You Mustn't Do Anything With the Mind" (see the Hubbard Collage Lectures of 1952).

    • And so you mustn't try the processes
    • You mustn't self audit
    • You mustn't experiment with the Tech
    • You mustn't even discuss the Tech
    • You mustn't form up assist networks or co-audit clubs
    • You mustn't put group processing on TV
    • You must keep everything confidential

And you must attack anybody who does try to do anything with the mind, including squirrels and psychs and other practices and even your own people who dare to try to apply what they have learned without paying big bucks to the orgs or following their fanatical fixed ideas.

    IT'S TIME FOR A CHANGE

Write "REFORM NOW" on the PR you receive and send it back to the org.

    READ THE INTERNET, ESPECIALLY
