AM I UNDER ATTACK? Of course news servers are as troublesome and unpredictable as the weather, so maybe its just bad luck. But I observed the following: This is based on checking the news server that I am signed up with (a good quality one), two open NNTP servers, and a good quality gopher server. Note that I never use any of these for "posting", I only post Pilot stuff through servers that I don't have access to. In mid July I issued 19 posts (all at once) and I noticed that the propogation was poor with only about half available on any particular news server (but it was a random mixture, all of them could be found somewhere but none were everywhere). I also noticed that the original posting of the super power materials by Zenon Panoussis on Aug 5 never made it to these servers or disappeared immediately because I could only find it on Dejanews. On this one it would seem very likely that OSA has been up to its old tricks. When I went to "post" messages in August, I found that the backdoor that I had been using was closed. This was only a minor inconvience since there are plenty of open back doors once you know how to probe for them. And it might just have been due to an ambitious new sysadmin, but it could have been OSA complaining. The 20 posts that I put out on Friday Aug 22 again suffered from very poor propigation. In this case, two posts, the one about super power and the one to David Miscaviage, did not appear on any of the 4 servers even though I know that some people got them because there were follow up postings. This was through a different gateway than the July posts. And half of the ones that did show up dissapeared after a day or two, much earlier than the rest of them and before the general aging off of posts made on that date. But when I posted my archives to ACT on Monday Aug 25, there were no problems even though this was a high volume (650K) posting through the same gateway as the problematic Aug 22 post. Almost everything showed up everywhere fairly rapidly. But this was to ACT only which OSA might not be paying much attention to. I checked for Lazarus Cancel summaries but could not find any for the days in question. I wonder if OSA has gotten smart enough to cancel the cancel summary on days where they cancel things? OSA may have wised up and gotten very subtile about what they are cancelling rather than running blatant cancel bunny attacks. Any thoughts on this? Best, The Pilot PS. My solution will of course be to attempt to post more often. ========================================== Subj : Super Scio - On Confusing Pilots and Mayonaise ON CONFUSING PILOTS AND MAYONAISE On 24 Aug 97, Keith Wyatt (kewyatt@teleport.com) wrote: > Subject- David Mayo is "The Pilot" > > For those of you that are wondering who The Pilot is: > From: > http://www.freezone.org/ > > UK PROJECT FOR THE PRESERVATION OF STANDARD TECH > London, England > ISSUE OF 15TH SEPTEMBER 1983 > BPI: > > THE CAMPAIGN AGAINST DAVID MAYO > > FURTHER DATA > > In FCO 7138 there is this statement: > > "It was additionally found that Mayo put together a "Pilot Mission" > to run public and staff in a nearby area on technical courses he > was "developing' and 'researching". Nearly > $39,000 was discovered hidden in a paper shoebox - the checks and > invoices written directly to him." > I'm honored to be confused with David Mayo. But Ron also had "pilot" programs. Perhaps I'm actually The Great Hubbardo zapping the internet telepathically from the between lives area (there, I've finally revealed how I accomplish my anonymous postings). As Ralph pointed out, our styles are different. So are our philosophies. Even outside orthodox Scientology, David is basically a standard tech adherent. I on the other hand have always been more in tune with the 50s tech, shooting from the hip, experimenting with tech, and searching for truth. I think that any trained Scientologist would confirm this. So don't confuse pilots and mayonaise. The one comes packaged in a jar, standard and certified, a predictable product. The other goes flying all the hell over the landscape exploring new territory, scary but fun. Hope this clears up the confusion, The Pilot ========================================== Subj : Super Scio - Crashed Stats at Flag ABOUT CRASHED STATS There has been some speculation about why Flag's stats crashed in 1994. The reason should be obvious. Flag gets a great deal of its flow from Los Angeles. 1994 was the year of the big earthquake in LA. Lots of businesses closed, lots of trouble getting to work because of closed freeways or freeway rebuilding. Southern California suffered a year long business depression. A lot of people who would otherwise have gone to Flag that year either had no time, or no money, or too many immediate problems to take care of. So they didn't go. So Flag's stats slipped. LA recovered the following year. A normal business would have weathered the bad year and been back in shape by the next year, which was what happened at the LA complex because it was obvious to them that the earthquake had had an impact and they were busy handling things on this basis. But Flag followed Policy and did a very stupid thing. When the stats slipped, they searched for ScapeGoats. Policy says that you must find the "WHY" and that you many not say that "The Why Is GOD" and blame the down stats on external circumstances. You are responsible for the condition you are in and therefore you can't blame the down stats on the LA earthquake. So the WHY must be OUT TECH. That is what they concluded. And they attacked their own technical staff, blaming them for the downstats. Basically they destroyed their tech division and cut their own throats. So they never recovered. In recent years, I have for the first time heard significant complaints about Flag auditing from loyalists. In the past, the complaints were usually about high prices or annoying registrars and ethics officer, but loyalists generally spoke well of Flag auditing. They don't speak well of it anymore. It is yet another of the seeminly endless supply of foot bullets. Best, The Pilot ========================================== Subj : Super Scio - About Eunice Ford ABOUT EUNICE FORD I have some fond memories of Eunice from the old days. A sweet kind hearted black woman who always had an encouraging word for everybody. In the 1980s, when she was aging, they gave her the Chapline's post at the complex in LA. This does seem to be the average Sea Org member's idea of how to handle thier elderly staff, namely to place them on an easier post which is not so stressful and where their wisdom and experience can be of help to others. This is in accordance with Ron's idea that full retirement and taking away somebody's job is liable to result in a quick decay and death because they no longer have anything to live for. This "rosy" picture falls apart when you add in heavy ethics, harsh seniors, and crazy orders. There are no low stress jobs in the Sea Org. So whether or not this would be a workable approach to handling the aged, the Sea Org handling is a betrayal. At a minimum, they would need policies about low stress kid gloves treatment of any staff who were above retirement age along with special half time schedules and much time to study and relax. The person could also be sent on "missions" to visit old friends and relatives which would primarily be vacations with a bit of promotional duties. This would be the least that they could do for their loyal supporters. But in the current harsh environment, such treatment would be thought of as validating downstats. And then there is the other fly in the ointment, which is that old people often do have medical problems. The Sea Org is not prepared to confront or pay for these. Note that I do agree with them as regards to discouraging the steady use of tranquilizers, painkillers, and mind altering drugs which do little to actually heal the body. But things that actually fix physical conditions are a different matter entirely and even Ron was in favor of using things such as antibiotics when appropriate. The Sea Org knows that they should pay for treatement by medical means in any situation where there is a clean diagnosis and a proven track record of success. And these things do come up with greater freequency as a person gets older. But they do not make provisions for this and their operating basis is to offload and abandon. I do not have any details on Eunice Ford's situation. All I have is a second hand report without any details. A friend of mine told me that she had talked with a relative of Eunice's and been advised that Eunice had Alzheimer's disease and was now in a rest home. I do not know who is paying for this, but I suspect that Eunice had met the minimum requirements for social security coverage before joining staff because she was already in her forties back in the 1960s. Another disgraceful thing is that they do not want to call attention to the fact that a high level OT has Alzheimers (since Ron says that senility is due to between lives implants going into restimulation) and so you will not see any notices in the auditor that would alert her many friends to send her nice cards to let her know that she was appreciated. Also, since Ron does propose that senility comes from implants in restimulation, shouldn't they have tried to audit her through this when the condition began to manifest (and while it was still light enough to provide many good moments of lucid conversation). And should they not have published a paper as to the success or failure of the approach, either to validate the tech so that others could be helped or to recognize that it is a physical problem so that appropriate treatement could be encouraged? But they are afraid to use the tech or experiment with it and Ron neglected to leave behind an alzheimer's rundown. So I guess that we will never know whether or not this one really does come from implants. Unless of course the freezone takes up the challange. I find this depressing. Sadly, The Pilot ========================================== Subj : Super Scio - About the ROLE OF EARTH Tape ABOUT THE ROLE OF EARTH TAPE Roland rightly observed that this is one of the hotter tapes, putting even the "Between lives implants" tape to shame. This tape is NOT confidential. It is just full of stuff about invader forces and Martian bases etc. A transcript of it is in R&D Volume 12 which was released recently. But they DID edit some things out of it. And I REALLY don't like that. Basically they knocked two things out of it. The first was a slightly criptic section about how you could get somebody to exteriorize and go over and take over somebody else's body. This trick was described in more detail in an early 1952 lecture called "An Anlysis of Memory" and that was one of the ones left out of the HCL transcripts that are included in R&D volumes 10 and 11. The final section of the Super Scio book includes a detailed list of the dozen or so tapes that they have hidden and omitted from the R&D volumes. The other thing that they edited out was a detailed talk about Nibs. This does show that they are intentionally trying to write him out of the CofS history, a bit like 1984. I did a complete transcript of the omitted sections only. I doubt that they will dare to complain about this because that would mean admitting that they are purging things from the tapes and that would even horrify the loyal members. Even if they do complain, this is short enough to qualify as a fair use extract. Note that the also changed the date from 30 Oct 52 to "sometime in November". Since I can't imagine why they would do this on purpose, it might simply indicate that they found out a bit more data on when the lecture was given. Unless of course, somebody is aware of some leagal claim that hinges on Ron not being in London on that date. ======================= THE ROLE OF EARTH - corrections to the transcript in R&D 12. 5210C30A SOP8A given 30 Oct 52. 62 min and 10 sec long. They omitted the first few minutes, which are as follows: "A thetan can go over and take possession of the body of, lets say we want to influence the priemier of Buckwupistan. So we boot this thetan out and make this thetan go over and knock out the thetan in the wife of the priemier of Buckwupistan. And then we are holding the body of the person that we send over there and they are still connected and in communication with this body. At which moment ... (noise in background) Pretty wild stuff to walk into suddenly ... (laughter). So we simply monitor, now all of a sudden we find we are able to monitor the wife of the priemier of Buckwupistan with great ease. And we get her into a tremendous affair with a court chamberlain you see. And we just get things swirled up like a fire drill. And the next thing you know, he's dispossessed. They say his rents up on Buckwupistan or something of this sort because of scandal, because of this, because of that. Its a very neat political manuver. And it is so neat that there is probably not a member of the class present who is along the category of (case level) IV or V who hasn't done it. And that is the reason why a lot of Vs and VIs are completely unwilling to get out of their heads. Because its an overt act to send somebody out of his head. And you've sent people out of their heads over to some vast distance. And having sent these people over, they run into a body or something which is then injured. Or something happens to their body right where you are. And you caused a complete foul up and extinction of a being. And after that, when somebody comes along and tells you to get out of your head, you'll find a V is trying despritely to stay in his head because he furiously objects to being sent around here, there, and various points in the universe, and because there is a DED (overt act) of having sent people out of their heads, and so on. So you work this stuff back and forth and you get some of the most interesting stuff. This is all early stuff by the way. Female voice (has a bit of an accent): But Ron. You see what happened was - when he eventually got into communication now in present time. (I skipped a garbled sentence here - she is difficult to make out ) He developed a round kind of pressure within his head. There were 4 beings coming at him. And I sprung him there and then and he had enough stability outside to energize these capsules and send them back. But I also questioned him about a body in pawn, but there was nothing on the Emeter. Ron: It probably didn't register too well on him." ---- From here on, the lecture continues as transcribed, begining with the sentence " I want to call your attention ...". All the stuff about the 4th & 5th invader, Mars, Venus, Bodies in Pawn, Entities, etc. are included in the transcript with no omissions or editing. But near the end, they chop out a whole lot about Nibs. The following belongs at the top of the last page of the transcript in R&D 12. The preceeding paragraph is: "Now, possessing knowledge of this is not really the same thing as being a Theta Clear. I wish to impress that upon you". "Let me give you the example of my boy Nibs, L Ron Hubbard junior. Interesting thing. He's a rather nice kid. Rather standard hot rod American kid. Perfect sense of irresponsibility. A nice kid. His friends all liked him. That's what you judge a kid by. He got along well with people and that sort of thing. But he had practically no goals. Nothing to look forward to or anything. Standard young American today being picked up by the draft and shoved here and shoved there. Alright. He had 7 hours total processing up to stable outside of his body and so forth. That was in the course of about 36 hours. He completely change his attitudes, personality, and so forth. He got a terrific sense of responsibility. He was reaching back and picking up pieces of knowledge of this sort and that sort and fitting them together and getting himself an education off the track. He was going around trying to help other guys out. He was doing this and doing that. He was a guy you really would care to know all of a sudden, not just this kid. Fantastic change. He went along for a little while. And he thought he was very savy now. He was perfectly satisfied that he had reached a state of knowingness where he could cope with things. I (alight?) upon him not too long ago and boy that boy had been having to burn the midnight oil and the morning oil and the afternoon oil in trying to catch up with the knowledge of book one (DMSMH), the course books, Scientce of Survival, Self Analysis, and so forth just so he could live. You get the idea. Just so he could stay up in state." ---- Now the transcript picks up accurately with: "This knowlege is vital; it's an education which one has to have to remain this wise, see". It carries on correctly up to the point where the transcript ends with the following sentence: "Your potentiality of knowingness goes way high, but this does not mean that data goes that high". Now they omit the last part of the lecture which is as follows: "To remain stable ... Nibs is doing a terrific job right now. By the way, he is just starting in to teach a theta clearing course in Phoenix as of today and he's using the tapes which you heard and stuff I've written him in letters and so forth. And everybody was having a very hard time with it in the states one way or the other and they're making it the hard way. And he was very interested in getting the show on the road. He wanted to come over here very despritely, very badly. And he was all booked and he had his boat passage and his passport. And then time was running short and he was going to pick up an airplane and come over here and he was going to do anything. And he finally phoned me up on the telephone and he says "Aren't you going to let me come over there". And I kept telling him that the operation in Phoenix was in very very great need of his services. And he finally buckeled down and he's running that operation. He's eighteen. And of all the guys anywhere in that vicinity, there's just two people that I would trust a great deal. One of them is old Alphia Heart who is the hardest boiled soft-hearted character you ever saw (laughter). A great guy. And the other one's Nibs. Just fantastic. You don't know American youth. but you know how irresponsible some British youth is. Just as a strata of (ir)responsibility. Well now, if you multiply it by about a hundred, you've got American youth today. And all of a sudden we've got a man. a very responsible man. Quite interesting. By the way, his attitude toward me is very very interesting. It might be an interesting little datum you might like to know about. He used to look on me rather resentfully and so on because, you see, during the years he was growing up and so on, I was off to the wars and off on expiditions and here and there and I wasn't home and his home life blew up pretty much and so on. So he ... (the tape does end abruptly at this point. There is some warbling and it sounds like the original might be running off of the reel. Or the equippment they were copying with malfunctioned here. This copy was from the OT cassettes that were available briefly around 1980 and which were said to have technical problems when they were removed from the bookstores). ==================== Best, The Pilot ========================================== Subj : Super Scio - Adventures in Koosland ADVENTURES IN KOOSLAND Simply reading Koos, the telepathic turnip from trollhaven, gives me this terrible urge to put on a foil hat and begin beaming away. Of course I would use a proper pyramid shaped foil hat so as to magnify the rays with pyramid power in addition to the normal amplyfying effects of the foil. But I certainly would not use such a thing for telepathic sec checking. It smacks too much of the THOUGHT POLICE. It would be an OVERT. It gives us telepaths a bad name. If I was up to snuf on telepathy, I'd use it to find out what horse was fixed to win in the 5th race at Saratoga, the hell with wasting my time sec checking people who are long dead. And if I could reach somebody telepathically and wanted to do some auditing, I'd run some helpful process like "What is the problem?"/"What part of that problem could you be responsible for" rather than badgering them about their overts and then publishing what I found out. But this is all assuming that Koos is real. Has anybody ever seen this Koos? Aside, that is, from Freya and Jutta and Blair who might all be part of the same virtual fantasy. Could he not be some class project undertaken by the university of Oslo? Or some construction of OSA's meant to show the loyalists that the freezone is dangerous and full of nutcases? If there are many people posting as "Koos" it might explain some of the divergences and reversals. Speaking of reversals, Homer has suggested this interesting idea that Koos says the opposite of what he means. He gave the example of a prisoner whose mail was censored writing things like "they feed us wonderfully here, not like in America where you are never allowed to have any meat or fruit" so as to sneak a communication through. Many of Koos posts make sense if they are read this way. If Koos is really a team at OSA, some of the team members may be having second thoughts about the fanatical CofS viewpoint and might be sending us subtle reverse messages as outlined by Homer. Or maybe he is an AI (artificial intelligence) project at MIT that has gotten out of control. There was an old AI demo program called "ELIZA" which talked very much like Koos does, ranting with non-sequiturs whenever it couldn't parse your input and respond sensibly. But enough of these idle musings, it is time to enter koosland and examine his posts. On Sunday 24 Aug 1997, Koos Nolst Trenite posted the subject '"The Pilot" seeking 'friends' by positioning himself'. > In order to have for himself the undivided attention from > the audience, "The Pilot" - anonymously though - tries to > extinguish the brilliance of Koos. I enjoy the brilliance of others and encourage it, perhaps to a fault. Koos' brilliance needs no extinquishment for it has not yet appeared. When it does present itself I will welcome it. But wait, Koos HAS earned his place in history, for he has inspired the fine poetry of Martin Hunt. > Will he succeed? > > L. Ron Hubbard did and does not manage, no matter how hard > and no matter with how much treachery and Black Magic he > attempts and attempted it. > > "Don't look at Koos - it will make you blind!" They always tell us this about pornography and masturbation, but clinical tests have shown that no blindness results. However, the vision of a naked koos roomping through the wilderness does upset my stomach somewhat. > That's what these little cooped up monkeys - from behind > their self-made bars - are shouting. > > Salieri did not manage, Dionysius did not manage, nor King > Charles VII of France. AH HA! Now we have it. Salieri hid behind the table while Mozart spoke BACKWARDS to Constanza in the Amadeus movie. This is a sure indication that Homer's theory is right. > > Will "The Pilot" succeed? > > Well, Mr. Anonymous and Hiding "The Pilot" (our Stephen Hawking > of Scientology) says enough himself about his ability to > face and handle suppression, doesn't he. I am flattered to be compared to Stephen Hawking. The body matters little, his mind is great. > Mr. Sweetness and Light, "The Pilot", who will not face > evil, except in his mind, in his Implants, in his own > universe, that is, who will not take responsibility for > life, from his IVORY TOWER of dusty "knowledge" [far > removed from actual life], with disdain for truth - or > sometimes outright disgust of truth, such as now - from > the safety of his wheelchair, wrote in a vain attempt to > not be overshadowed by Koos' light: This must be one of the BACKWARDS messages. Koos is probably talking about himself. At this point Koos posts some of the Paul Sheer message and my response, which I will . Later in the same day, Koos posts another message with the subject line - How "The Pilot" smashes INDIVIDUALS. > "The Pilot" may be very interesting, but he DOES NOT > WANT TO FACE ACTUAL INDIVIDUALS AND THEIR > INTENTIONS, neither in present, nor in his past. Obviously backwards. Koos prefers to face his mental images of people rather than the people themselves. > For him, people are "incidents", "emotional thought > pool"-incidents, to quote himself. Really? I think he must also be reading my Super Scio book backwards, reversing the meanings. > To overcome his sickening refusal to face actual > INDIVIDUALS WITH ACTUAL INTENTIONS, > I point out to you that > all "incidents" described by Mr. "The Pilot" are simply > individuals with intentions causing, or having caused, > things and being also effected. Are there any other kinds of incidents except for natural disasters? Of course the incidents involve people. Do I care if two rocks fall on each other if no people are involved? > INSTEAD of facing life and facing those INDIVIDUALS > and THEIR INTENTIONS, Mr. "The Pilot" has millions > of "incidents" and "implants". Is this really an either/or condition? Does it not help you to face the future by confronting what has already happened? Does it not help you in your current relationships to confront and learn from your previous ones? But I do not think that Koos is talking about facing real human beings here. Although my personal life is not visible, he can certainly see that I don't run away and hide like the OSA shills do every time anybody asks something unpleasant. I'm not saying that I'm perfect in this regards, but at least I don't keep sticking my head in the sand. I think that here he is talking about telepathic pseudo-individuals whom he locates and sec checks. He says that he is facing thier EVIL INTENTIONS, but really he searches for and even creates these evil intentions so that he can have somebody else TO BLAME THINGS ON instead of being responsible for his own condition. > Do you understand, how, by smashing the truth, Mr. "The Pilot" > smashes Richard Platek AND smashes Homer Wilson Smith? This line must be backwards. Obviously I'm supportive of Richard and Homer. And if he's got that backwards, he probably does recognize that I support rather than smash truth as well. Perhaps this is a member of an OSA team who is having second thoughts and trying to tell us that it is OSA who is trying to smash Richard and Homer and confessing that their real effort is to smash truth. If anybody is still thinking clearly after all this insane rambling, they really deserve a cert (Certificate). If you put on your foil hat and think "give me my cert" very strongly, one of the loyal officers hiding in the 4th dimension will materialize and hand you one. If they do not appear, then it must be your own out-ethics and you should run, not walk, to the nearest ethics officer and beg to be put in a lower ethics condition. With Amusement, The Pilot ========================================== Subj : Super Scio - Answering Michael Voytinsky ANSWERING MICHAEL VOYTINSKY On 25 Aug 97, "Michael Voytinsky" posted the following: > Keith wrote in article > <5trn6h$lcu$1@nadine.teleport.com>... > > > The one thing I know is that the picture of Scientology as a whole > > is nothing like it is portrayed here on ARS. > > Please enlighten us about what Scientology is really like. I thought that I might butt in here, not meaning to get in to a fight over these things but simply to let you know what is obvious even to a Scientologist verses what seems to be questionable ground. I do want the Scientologists to wake up and if there are weak spots in a list like this, they use them to wiggle out from under instead of facing the unpleasant truths. > Are any of the following false: > > 1) Scientology is extremely expensive. Very true. Even loyalists will conceed this one. > 2) There is not a shred of evidence that the empirical claims made by > Scientology/Dianetics are true. Shakey ground. Many of the phenomena are easily demonstrated and observed. The wild sales claims on the other hand are far beyond anything that they can deliver. You would be better off pointing out that clears, for example, do not seem to have the perfect memory promised in the Dianetics book. > 3) Scientology promotes hatred against an identifiable group (psychiatrists > and psychologists). True. And don't forget the anti-squirrel hatred as well. That's even worse because they turn against their own people. > 4) Scientology's claim that it is compatible with other religions is a lie. Again shakey. I would say that it is half compatible, requiring significant adjustments of faith as one advances. The heavy anti-Christ comment on the Class VIII tape is not only confidential but is also restricted to Class VIII auditors only, so that even an OT 8 is unaware of it. People who do OT 3 are not told that business about Christianity being an R6 dramatization and are not forced to abandon Christian ideas. I never saw it until I read it on the internet, and I still discount it as one of Ron's mistakes. The most that you could say would be that the inner circle of Scientology management is hostile towards Christianity. You can't really say it of the membership even at the upper levels. But one is expected to come to an acceptance of past lives. That, however, is true of all of the Christian metaphysical practices in the US, so its not that big a jump. I was raised a token Lutheran with heavy metaphysical trimmings (Edgar Casey, Cosmic Conciousness, etc.) so I found 100 percent compatibility between the Christianity I was raised in and Scientology and I still consider myself a Christian although many Christians would think of me as some strange sort of heritic. > 5) The Church of Scientology is responsible for taking down the Penetic > anonymous remailer. True. But its just one aspect of OSAs efforts to destroy free speach. And it might be better said as "forcing them to close down" since they chose to volentarily shut down rather than violate their ethics by giving up the identities of anonymous posters. > 6) Church of Scientology attempted to infiltrate government agencies and > steal government documents in USA and Canada. True and well documented. > 7) The critical skills of Scientologists are damaged to the point where OT3 > (the Xenu and the Body Thetans) story makes perfect sense to them. A badly loaded question since it implies that one's critical skills must be damaged if one believes in anything. In this form, the question is only mud slinging, calling somebody stupid, and that is annoying if you are stupid and it is annoying if you aren't, and it does nobody any good. But there is something here worth persuing and it could be said in a way that some Scientologists will even agree with you. Scientology uses heavy ethics and coercive supervision to stiffle all dissent and force the membership to take things literally instead of thinking about things in a rational manner. I was originally trained in Scientology at a time when ethics was extremely light, the lower ethics conditions didn't exist, the supervisors were willing to discuss things and kick around ideas, and there was not a lot of coertion or pressure to conform to the party line. I never agreed literally with everything Hubbard wrote and in the early days I was not forced to. Later the gestapo storm troupers landed (Sea Org, Class 8s, etc.) and I learned to keep my mouth shut (I have finally managed to open it). The current practices are damaging to one's critical facilities. However its not the Xenu business (that could be an interesting area of philosophical discussion) but rather it is the heavy pressure to disconnect from one's friends, worship policy, and violate the laws of the land without any judgement whatsoever. > 8) The Communications Course makes it easier to communicate only with other > Scientologists. Completely false. It is quite helpful in all communications. But the best examples are people who do the course and get out fast before the newly learned skills are destroyed by heavy handed ethics and other coercive practices designed to shut the person up again. Look at Jerry Sienfield. Obvious mastery of TR bullbaiting. And joyfully criticizing Scientology. This is how the students come off of the communication course before ethics and peer pressure beats them back into line. Sienfield wouldn't let them shut him back up and was out the door in a flash. The one hand givith and the other taketh away. They work hard to shut down the person's communications with the outside world. The better statement, and one that again might make a Scientologist really stop and think, is that: Despite all the supposed mastery of the technology of communications, Scientologists seem to have trouble communicating with non-Scientologists. Now that one is true and is quite scary to a believer in the tech. > I could go on. If one accepts the first part of the story where he was zapping bugs, then the simpler explanation is that there was a counter reaction and introducing other extraneous possiblities is the violation of Occam's razor. Of course the whole story could be bogus, I did warn that it was second hand and I am always a bit leary of people telling tall tails. The problem with the razor is that it depends upon accurate facts and is of little help in sorting truth from falsehood. One of our problems is that we are talking from different frames of reference. It is highly visible, linked to from many places, and one of the most effective for raising doubts in the minds of loyalists. The stronger sites confirm the loyalists in thier contention that the people who are attacking are doing so out of hate and evil intentions. Tilman is more reasonable and yet he presents a lot of critical data in a very intelligent manner. For people who are already familiar with the sekrit scriptures and who are leary of those evil SPs, this is the one that gives them second thoughts. And it provides good links to other sites. So it sets them up and then leads them into the heavier stuff. There are other sites which are more effective at keeping people out or inflaming people who are already pissed off. But this is the one that OSA notices because it has the strongest impact on their own staff. Of course the pilot sites are also aimed straight down their throats. But I think that they are scared to get into a debate with me because I know too much of the early tech. Even with Dennis Erlich they are careful to avoid any solid technical discussions and keep derailing any debate by criticizing his personal life. Since they don't yet know who I am, they don't have any way of doing this with me. Nor did I > see what could be interpreted as a joke inside any issue. Everything was > very serious and should not be tampered with or interpreted in any > way > > Birgitta. Ron used to joke extensively in his lectures and he enjoyed making the occasional pun or witty turn of phrase. The bulletins and policies were generally summaries of procedure and he didn't generally joke in them, but even there he couldn't resist putting in an occasional twist ("don't wait for the meter to play Dixie, it was made in the Nawth"). For students who were too dense or literal minded to tell when he was joking, there was always the audience laughter on the tape itself to clue you in. Even Bob Kaufman in his expose talks about how funny Ron could be on his tapes and how the students would sit around laughing while they listened to them. Bob was on lines in the 1960s and he was there as the water temprature changed dramatically. (in case Bob is still around and ever reads this - I really liked your piano playing). Then, in the late 1960s, the subject got DEAD SERIOUS. Even the jokes were sometimes taken literally. All judgement fled. I'm sure that Birgitta is correct in her estimation because she is looking at a later time period. The jokes come to an end with that horrible "Jokers and Degraders" policy. That's around 1969. I am not inclined to appologize for an unseemingly quote by claiming that it was a joke when it wasn't. Some of the loyalists will do this to try and get off the hook and I'll be happy to dig into the materials and see what the real story was. Things like Marcab were not meant as jokes. As a general rule of thumb, Hubbard himself gets very serious begining around 1967 and then he forces everybody else to be serious as well by about 1969. The original R2-45 was a joke. The 1969 order does not use it as a joke, it is dead serious. I would not say that if I were making bullshit appologies and avoiding the truth. The idea of not interpreting Hubbards words came in with "Standard Tech" in 1968. In the early days, Hubbard used to rant against literal minded people. In the later days, the org made people literal minded as a standard operation. It used to be that you could sit around in the course room laughing at the tapes and joking with the other students. We used to say "if it isn't fun, it isn't Scientology". If a gab fest got going, the supervisor would eventually chide you into getting back to work, but the environment was not suppressive to communication. If you scratched your head, people assumed that you had an itch rather than a misunderstood word. There were no word clearers. There were plenty of dictionaries. If a student got into trouble, the supervisor would start by looking for a misunderstood word and it worked as often as not. But you didn't sit there looking up every damn word and learning things like a robot. It was a remedy for when you got in trouble. This all changed. Sorry if I've gotten carried away here, The Pilot ========================================== Subj : Super Scio - Some info on L10 SOME INFO ON L10 Sorry, I don't know the L10 data. But SOURCE issue 109 which came out recently has an article where they say more than they ever have before. I thought that this might be helpful to anyone who is trying to determine the accuracy of various freezone copies of the rundown. The article is called "An interview with Richard Reiss, Senior Case Supervisor FSO for the L Rundowns". It is on page 12. This is from the middle of the article: "One of the rundowns on L10 locates the worst thing on the whole track that was ever done to you and the worst thing you ever did. And having located that, L10 goes one step urther and runs out what occurred just before you committed the overt and releases whatever was holding that in place. "Another rundown, called the Life Rundown addresses 24 different specific areas and the attitudes you've had about them. Just as an example, you examine your attitudes toward such things as spirits, ghosts, entrapment, and knowledge and the list goes on. "The second dynamic is by far the most aberrated dynamic there is and has been under heavy suppression on the whole track and, incidentally, a major target of attack by the psychs. On L10, there are over 180 questions you answer, that peel layer after layer of charge off the second dynamic." He also talks a bit about L12 as follows: "On L12, the Flag OT Executive Rundown, you handle harmful energy deposits which hold in place unwanted attitudes, character traits, and bad impulses which are of absolutely no value to you and only serve to cut your reach. "For example, L12 locates times you were being timid, greedy, quarrelsome, jealous, or in glee and handles the impulses behind this. But you don't just address them from just one direction. Rather you address them from every conceivable angle with 1,368 possible variations and eradicate each one. "The third and final step of L12 is very confidential and handles connections that you've had in the real universe to individuals who have had anything but your best interest at heart. The connections are on an ultra high waveband and the processes of L12 search out each connection and nullify them so you can never be the effect of them ever again." That's all folks, The Pilot ========================================== Subj : Super Scio - Reply about Splinter Groups CONTINUING THE SPLINTER GROUP DISCUSSION On 25 Aug 97, tashback@primenet.com (Tashback) wrote continuing the subject "Super Scio -To R Freeland re Splinter Groups" > In article , > pilot@hiddenplace.com wrote: > > > > > There are numerous stories of OSA attacks, infiltration, and > > dead agenting of these groups. Are any details available about the infiltration and > harassment of the Objectivist group? > > Tash The CofS seems to view all mental practices as competition. Its hard to say how much is current and how much is old news. They get better and worse on these things. Sometimes that business about delivering an effective blow to the enemy as part of the liability formula is taken literally. Sometimes they get inspired by that line in the Simon Bolivar policy about an enemy camp going up in flames. But there are also more ethical people in there who try to cool these things down and right the wrongs. So, like almost everything in Scientology, its a mixed bag and roller coasters up and down. Many Scientologists are very adept at testing the water temprature. They call this "theta knowingness". When ethics is on a rampage and the registrars are desprite for cash, the public makes themselves scarce and wait for their "knowingness" to tell them that things have gotten better and its safe to poke their nose in the door. This makes down stats into a self perpetuating cycle. If the stats drop, the staff behaves worse and the public hides and so the stats drop further. Then things really get bad and the madness comes upon them and they search for SPs who are the source of the collapse. This is when they become actively dangerous to other groups, and reasonable voices are labled as SPs because being "reasonable" is a "suppressive" trait. But eventually there is some faint upswing and it all starts turning around. Ethics lightens up and the staff begins to crawl back out of the pit. Since many of the previous ethics officers and executives will have been declared suppressive themselves, it becomes easy to reverse the suppresive declarations that were issued because usually at least one who is now SP will have been involved in the earlier declare. So some people come back in as having been wrongly declared. The public's "knowingness" lets them know that the climate is now better and they begin to return. What was previously called suppressive reasonableness is now known as good ARC. Best, The Pilot PS. "knowingness" in this case is meant to be sarcastic. ========================================== Subj : Super Scio Tech - The Mirror Process THE MIRROR PROCESS This one can turn on fear, so flatten fear first if necessary. A nice process for handling irrational fear is to pick innocuous objects in the room and alternately mockup being afraid of them and having them be afraid of you. You should also be adept at handling entities (what are you/ who are you (me) ) and split pieces of yourself (point to the being you divided from) because a few of these might turn up even though they are not the main target of the mirror process. Which brings us around to the mirror process itself. It is very interesting. Close your eyes. Mockup or visualize a mirror in front of you. Look into it and see what you are hiding behind your back. I found a whole bunch of old stuck pictures from times when I was terrified, mostly from earlier lives. On the first few, I would get a bit of a chill down my spine and a bit of a feeling of terror from anticipating what might be in the picture, but when I actually looked at them, there was nothing really scary. It was things that had completely terrified me at the time that they happened but which were not a big deal to look at in retrospect. For example, I got a picture of a sort of snow cat, a bit like a snow white cougar or mountain lion. He was right in my face and I was paralyzed with fear. It was similar to but not quite the same as the big cats here on Earth. Later I dated it at about 3 million years ago on some other planet. The picture was stuck at about 5 minutes before I died in that lifetime. The pictures were extrodinarily vivid. This despite my being clear, and having run lots of track, and not being inclined to copy or mistake an entity's pictures for my own. I did not want to derail the process, so I didn't try to date or locate or handle the incidents as the pictures came off. I simply looked at and confronted each one as it appeared in the mirror and it would then fade and the next one would come into view (with a bit of anticipatory terror on the first few). It was such a relief to keep finding innocuous things such as mountain lions eating me that the pictures blew without any real effort on my part. If a picture had stuck, I would have used some trick for handling a stuck picture. Just spotting and confronting portions of the picture often works. And copying the picture a few times and changing the colors and things has always worked for me. Eventually the pictures stopped showing up and I felt comfortable about there being nothing dangerous behind my back. It was quite nice. I kept track of the pictures as they came off, and once the process had flattened, I went back and checked over each one, date/locating the incident and spotting what happened there. Interestingly enough, this did not dredge up any old implants or really wild incidents or anything outside of this universe. But it did get rid of a dark little mass of terror that had been hanging behind my back for a long long time. Best, The Pilot ========================================== Subj : Super Scio Tech - To Heidrun re Drug PCs To Heidrun Beer re Drug PC On 25 Aug 97, concern@atnet.at (Heidrun Beer) posted the subject "Question to Alan (1)" > Hi, > > one question to the Clean Slate process: You mentioned > drugs on that tape. (The Bible) >---------------------------------------------------------------------- I hope you don't mind my butting in. Six weeks is excessive and just asking for trouble. Joints are not serious mind altering drugs. Back in the sixties we used to have people dry out for a week and have them doing TRs and taking vitamins while they dried out. Our problem was that we didn't have enough tech in use (quickie era). We would only do drug rehabs and then 3 flow recalls, secondaries, and engrams of taking drugs. This is inadequate for handling the PC so that they wouldn't revert. But the PCs were quite sessionable and auditable on the one week if they had only had pot or were light drug users. They would easily have run prior assessments or whatever. We did have trouble running LSD cases through bad trips with Dianetics. That was really hair raising because they would have touched lots of wild whole track incidents during the bad trip. But as far as pot goes, it was easier to run somebody who had been taking pot than it was to run somebody who had been taking painkillers such as asprin on a regular basis (there are chronic asprin users, every day like clockwork). I think that you do need the 6 weeks on the heavier designer drugs, but if you get too tough on the occasional joint, she is liable to go back on the hard stuff. From what little I know of Alan's Clean Slate, it is aimed at overts and would be totally out gradient on a druggie. Ruds are really good, but that only includes a small amount of balanced handling of overts. If you push overts too hard, you'll just push her out the door. People commit overts to solve problems. And they take drugs as a solution. And they get into a game condition and a make wrong with society. You need something lighter. Two way comms or other life repair type stuff or problems processes or objectives. Its too much to expect a sudden jump from irresponsible to responsible without first giving them a base to stand on. If she has a lot of heavy wierd drug use, then the purif does sound like a good idea (but I have my doubts about those super high niacin levels - 50 to 200 seems to give a really nice flush and high circulation without having to raise the question of whether or not 5000 is safe - of course I'm not making any medical recommendations here). But I would be inclined to get a bit of charge off of why she is taking drugs (problems, somatics, etc.) first. And also to teach her some simple things like locationals that she can do herself so that she has something to help her get through the reactions. And you have to avoid getting into a make wrong and games condition with her. That is often the anatomy of the druggies life. They will try to get you to wear the opposition valence. Its a game that they are playing out. You need to deliver firm but friendly control with high 8C and ARC. Think of them as somebody who is struggling as you run CCH 2. You don't chide them for struggling, you simply get them over to the wall. I am playing around with the idea that the protest button might be the key on any compulsive behavior. You could try flying a protest rud on the area, finding out if she is taking drugs to protest something and then getting itsa and earlier similar itsa. Good Luck, The Pilot ========================================== Subj : Super Scio Tech - to ACT - Tech Vs BPC TO ACT - TECH VS BPC Seems like the signal to noise ratio on clearl -> ACT has been very high recently. Alan and LaMont came back on, which is a good thing. But in no time at all, they are trading insults with Homer. Then the fight escallates and others get sucked into the fray. And the newsgroup begins to look like a toilet backing up. So I ask myself why. These are all intelligent people, tech finders who are capable of thinking about the mechanics of the mind and who are certainly capable of cooling down upsets and encouraging sane communications. Even Homer, although he didn't do the same amount of auditor training, has earned his place as can be seen from his extensive writings (Adore etc. in the archives). The answer must be bypassed charge. There is an earlier similar and it contained lots of charge, and when it gets stirred up, people explode at the wrong targets. The earlier similiar is of course orthodox Scientology. Alan, unfortunately, still uses a lot of the old CofS style PR buttons. It is very restimulative. I was totally turned off when I saw his promo a number of years ago. I have a MUCH better opinion of him now because of his technical discussions that have appeared on Clearl. A lot of those came about because Homer was harrassing him about posting real tech instead of PR, and it worked. I remember a public event where John Mac explained and gave the processing command for the key process on each grade from zero to four. The execs wanted to kill him. The auditors were scandalized. The public loved it and they came in in droves to get those processes run. It was the right action. All I have to hear is anything that smacks of "we have all the answers" or "come out now for this wonderful new breakthough" or about the "awful dangers of seeing these materials before one is prepared" and I just KNOW that I'm being led down the garden path. Many people have trained on grade processes before having had them run. Does anybody know of any case where the person was less interested instead of more interested in getting processed after they were trained? So the guy fools around a bit with a few processes on his own. If the processes are good, he's more interested in getting the grade run. Maybe you have to rehab a few cogs, but he runs faster because he has more understanding and responsibility and, at least in my experience, the gains are bigger and more stable which adds to your reputation. Alan comes across a hundred percent better when he is leading technical discussions than when he is PRing wins. Then there is LaMont. He restimulates the blind and pedantic attitude of the C/S or auditor who is insisting on the rightness of standard tech rather than listening to what the PC is saying. He has picked up an undesirable valence due to too much exposure to standard tech fanatics and it is actually quite contrary to his nature. I remember him as warm and lighthearted and very asthetic and you can still see that in his posts unless he is busily ranting at Homer about the tech. The orgs specialized in fitting square PCs into round holes and refusing to listen. I was often hit with the "do you think you know better than the C/S", but the thing is that I usually did know better. After all, it was my case and I had studied the tech extensively and I had no desire to hang onto anything just to make myself right or get some bogus certificate instead of real gains. I don't know how many times I saw a TA come into range on a supposed "dog" PC because I was willing to listen and have things be whatever they were instead of jamming some theoretical point down their throats. Half the time, the problem is that the tech the PC needs is not in the current lineup. And the PC kicks and screams and the auditor and C/S insist that there is something wrong with the PC and try to fix it instead of running what needs to be run. Even when you don't have the right tech, the general techniques for getting off charge (2 way comms, repair lists, etc.) give you an angle of approach. Even without adding my stuff or Alan's suff or anybody elses extentions into the tech, we have ten times more LRH tech in the 1950s than has ever been used in standard tech. And the ultimate process was for the auditor to invent processes as needed by the PC. Not just C/Sing in the chair but originating tech in the chair based on obnosis and knowlege of basics. That's SOP-8OT (3rd ACC) and it had to be that way because that's the only way you're going to completely parallel the mind. It failed only because most auditors of that time were not up to doing it. And thats the same reason why you don't C/S in the chair. Its not because it isn't needed. But the average Class 8 or BC graduate does not know anywhere near enough to do it right without screwing up the PC. So we have these compromises. But they are compromises rather than virtues. You use standards to help you over the ruff spots where your understanding is inadequate. The standards give you as a practitioner a stable datum to judge things by. But you never jam those down the PCs throat or try to make him behave in a "standard" manner. That's like carving the square peg to make it fit in the wrong hole. LaMont is far beyond the average party liner. He has had much more exposure to the early tech and he is out from under the RTC's fanatical thumb. He only has to wake up and smell the coffee. As for Homer, he could use some more tech training, but it would have to be in an environment where one could question and learn rather than having one's head beaten in. So it will probably have to be self study and I assume that he is already working along those lines. He does not strike me as the sort who would back down if something is difficult or restimulative. He's more likely to charge into things in a search for answers. A certain percentage of cases, including myself, are this way. And many of our rules are to avoid overwhelming people who flinch at charge. They don't really apply in this situation. I know that when I first came in, I would have done better rather than worse if I'd been given a few implant platens to skim through and a description of OT 3 to read. It would have given me a bit more data and orientation that would have been very helpful when I collapsed out of the keyed out OT state and might even have helped me to avoid the collapse. The only Scientology materials that I ever found to be really restimulative were the lower ethics conditions. Now that stuff really is scary and dangerous. But back to the subject at hand. The right target would be to have sane technical discussions. Not necessarily in agreement, since challenging ideas is a good way to put them to the test, but with some mutual respect and a willingness to actually discuss things rather than simply taking an authoritarian stance. When charge begins to show up and change the discussions into pissing contests, all of you should be working to blow the charge both on yourselves and each other rather than dramatizing it. I'm not even going to try to analyze the other fights that were going on at this time, such as the one between Allen and Christine, but I expect the same rules to hold. Lets see more demonstrations of being able to use tech (of whatever sort) to help people get along with each other. I know that a few people tried to handle it when the fireworks started going off, but the big names just ignored them and kept on flameing. I also noticed at least one poster makeing the apparantly chronic mistake of confusing Alan (Alan C. Walters of Knowlegeism etc.) and Allen (Allen Hacker of Acceptance Processing etc.). Maybe ACT needs a who's who FAQ. With hope for more tech and less BPC, The Pilot PS.
