Troubleshooting guide for: "How To Trick Your Body Into Falling Asleep To Enter A Lucid Dream And Have Frequent OBEs" If you don't have the video that goes with this, go to www.saltcube.com to get it so you have the full story. (Also make sure you're signed up for my free lucid dream and OBE induction tricks at www.lucidology.com) ------------------------------------------------------------ From www.saltcube.com Copyright 2008 Matt Jones - All rights reserved ------------------------------------------------------------ Here's a short troubleshooting guide to get you over OBE obstacles. The first thing I ask people is: did they try the timer method in the early morning after getting up for 45 minutes and going back to bed? If so, there are two basic ways it can go wrong. Either falling too deeply asleep that they can't hear the timer beeps, not being able to fall asleep quickly enough in between the beeps. === *** The Trick To Getting It To Work *** === THE MAIN TRICK TO GETTING IT TO WORK IS TO BE ABLE TO WAKE UP AND FALL ASLEEP 4 OR 5 TIMES IN AN HOUR WITHOUT MOVING. That is really the main goal and if you can do that you'll reach sleep paralysis which is your primary milestone to shoot for before you try achieving a full-blown OBE. (There is certainly more to it than that which I go into detail in the video you get at www.saltcube.com but this is the essential thrust.) If you move at all (even moving your eyes), your body resets and it doesn't work. When using the default timer setup on the flash timer, you're most likely going to have a lucid dream or sleep paralysis during the 20 minute intervals. Like I mentioned, sleep paralysis is really the 1st goal you should be going for before shooting for a full blown OBE. If you can get sleep paralysis or vibrations you're 95% of the way there. Here's a method I've been using recently which is very effective for falling asleep faster by using half-rolls: www.saltcube.com/out-of-body/chat-forum/viewTopic.jsp?t=39130&po=39182#39182 Here is a thread with ideas on how to solve problems of either not falling fast asleep enough or falling too deeply asleep: www.saltcube.com/?t=sleep-training ========== Getting Stuck At The Vibration State And How To Convert Sleep Paralysis Into An OBE ========== It's common for people to make it into vibrations or sleep paralysis and then get stuck. However, it's GREAT that you've made it that far because it means you've really made a ton of progress and are a million miles ahead of 99% of everyone else on earth now that you've deliberately gotten into sleep paralysis and you know what's going on. Here are a few things I can recommend. First, in order to do a traditional-style OBE and peel away from your physical body at that point, you need to relax further until the vibrations *go away*. If you try to create a feeling of a force to separate while you're still in vibrations, you'll probably be get pulled right back in. Vibrations are a *transition* state that happens before you're really ready to do the full exit. Vibrations are not the final state you're shooting for, you're only half-way there if you're in vibrations. This is probably why people get stuck here. The misconception is thinking that vibrations are a final goal state. However the reality is that they are only a half-way point. If you're in full sleep paralysis, that's also a good sign that you're ready to do the exit and if you open your mouth and take a few slow deep breaths that is often all it takes to initiate the separation process at your face and you can exit just by pulling away from your body. There is also a second approach which does not require that you enter super-deep relaxation like a traditional OBE does. This is called a mental projection and you watch for behind the eye-lid imagery which happens when you reach the vibration state. By watching it and using thought to make objects you see spin you can make them brighter and more solid. Eventually you can connect to them by pressing yourself into the imagery using a feeling of a force on your head and chest pushing into the imagery. That will result in a different experience than the traditional OBE exit but it's still a very fun type of OBE. Often it's more fun because the imagery you enter is very unusual and there's a lot to explore. Finally, a third option is to use the teleporting exit which also doesn't require you to be in ultra-deep relaxation. Being in vibrations is deep enough for it to work. Imagine there's a copy of yourself that's walking around in an adjacent room. Imagine that it's running its hands on the walls and feeling the textures of things. This will gradually strengthen your connection to your imagined copy. Eventually when you're deep enough in your subconscious you'll get to where you're literally feel what you imagined copy feels. You'll sense the resistance on the wall and feel the little bumps and cracks in it. At this point you can start to transfer all of you focus into your copy and away from you physical body. When that process is complete you'll have effectively teleported out of your body and into a nonphysical environment. Here's another link with similar information, it talks about doing a mental projection which is a lot like a teleporting OBE. www.saltcube.com/?t=exit-paths === Vibrationless OBEs === Ideally your OBEs will become vibrationless. The more you practice the more you'll have OBEs where you never have vibrations and that's a good thing. Vibrations are somewhat useful to tell you how deep in trance you are, but beyond that they're a waste of energy. The best OBEs will have a very smooth exit where you enter sleep paralysis, initiate an exit either by connecting to dream imagery or by opening your mouth and starting the peel-away sequence, or by using one of the other exit methods we've talked about. You transition from a physical focus and into a nonphysical focus without any buffeting or rushing noises or vibrations. === Laying On Your Back === You actually don't need to fall asleep on your back, the purpose of laying on your back in the half-roll method is to induce the roll-over urge. However once you get the urge and the body is trying to fall asleep you can roll into whatever position you like. The final OBE exit is usually done on your side or stomach. If you find you have a hard time falling asleep on your back, you should not try to do the final OBE exit on your back. Only lay on your back at the very beginning to induce the roll-over urge and then roll over and stay still. === "Sleep Training" Before Your Full Attempt === Here's a question I got from pblakey on OBE induction: "The only thing I can't do is the alarm clock thing because I don't want to wake up my wife, who does not sleep soundly as it is. And yes, I am fully aware that I probably need to sleep on my own, but that is really not an option at this time." "How does one not try so hard? Seems a paradox ... if I don't make an effort I simply fall asleep. If I do make an effort I get hot, itchy, need to move etc." My reply: I would practice on the weekday mornings falling asleep faster. Just set your alarm for a half hour earlier than you normally wake up. Then practice falling back to sleep without doing the full OBE induction routine. That may also give you sleep paralysis which is your primary goal when you start. There should be no pressure to perform during those practices, just stay still and fall asleep. When it's time to do a full OBE session on the weekends, I would use earbud earphones so that only you can hear the beeps. By that time you should be able to fall asleep quickly by doing exactly what you did during the week. Also here's a link a sleep training method you can use to practice before your full OBE attempt: www.saltcube.com/?t=sleep-training === REMEMBER TWO THINGS: THE TRICK AND YOUR GOAL === The trick is: to wake up and fall asleep 4 or 5 times in an hour without moving. Your goal: is to induce full sleep paralysis. Get to sleep paralysis first and then on your second attempt go ahead and go for a full-blown OBE. Be sure to visit www.saltcube.com to watch the video on all the other methods that weren't covered in this short guide. You'll learn how to: 1.) Speak the body's biological language so you can to give it the commands to fall asleep while you keep your mind awake. 2.) Tell how deep in trance you are by listening to the body's signals. 3.) Optimize your brain chemistry to make lucid dreams much more likely and much more vivid. 4.) Have dozens of lucid dreams or OBEs rapidly one after the other. 5.) Fall asleep quickly but without falling so far asleep that you can't become lucid. 6.) Conquer fear in dreams. 7.) Create a space in your subconscious that you can immerse your focus into to have a WILD 8.) Shift your focus into the part of your brain that generates mental imagery and away from the physical imagery you usually see 9.) Craft your own efficient visualizations to develop solid subconscious spaces 10.) Fix blindness in lucid dreams and sense your surroundings without using vision 11.) Solve problems associated with relaxation such as involuntary muscle twitching, itching and the swallow reflex Visit www.saltcube.com for the full video * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Make sure you're signed up for my free lucid dream and OBE induction tricks at www.lucidology.com ! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
